I bet you might not have expected me to include Superman as a color coded character. But in my opinion, he is. In fact, he’s probably one of the most complex color coded characters there are, because he’s also a character that does quite a bit of “passing” in order to be America’s hero.
Month: June 2015
There’s not much of an introduction I need to do for this. E.L.pa James, the writer of the oft-derided Fifty Shades of Grey series had a Twitter Q&A. Somehow, her PR team thought this was a fantastic idea, but as the #AskThicke team figured out all too late, talking to Twitter was the worst thing James could ever do.
We’re gearing up for another week of Tyrant, but I have some thoughts about last week’s Tyrant that have me feeling a certain type of way, and that way isn’t good.
I’ve been following Avan Jogia’s career for a while, ever since he starred on ABC Family’s Twisted. Between that and Victorious, I’ve routinely heard how his talent superseded the material he was given. To me, it seems like TUT will be the acting challenge he’s been hoping for.
I know I’m 72 hours late with this news, but so much happened on Friday and so little has been able to get written up. Last week was a long week for many reasons; forgive me.
Enough of my mea culpas—let’s get to the fact that MARRIAGE EQUALITY IS ALL OVER AMERICA! WHOOO! Thanks, SCOTUS!
I labored over this particular Charleston post a lot. Combined with getting my mind back together after the tragedy, watching the news, and discussing the Confederate flag, I’ve been feeling pretty low and, honestly, didn’t feel like discussing it anymore. But that would be shirking my duty as a chronicler of history (in my modest station), so I wanted to say something. How I wanted to tackle it was difficult.
But thankfully, I’ve had people who have done it for me, probably with a lot more clarity than I could have at the time.
Donald Trump has said some awful things before, but it seems like his karma for saying horrible things might have caught up with him.
Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can…or what Marvel tells him to do. It would seem Marvel’s had a huge hand in what Spider-Man can do in the movies, and what he can’t. Marvel also has allegedly stated who Spider-Man can and can’t be.
Alexander Karim consistently presents many of Tyrant‘s shining moments. Mainly, it’s because Ihab Rashid is one of the most consistent and relatable characters.
