Disney to Turn "Mulan" Into Live-Action Film

Sometimes, Disney underwhelms me, what with the lackluster Alice in Wonderland live-action Tim Burton movie (which gave us the eye-searing sequence of Johnny Depp’s Mad Hatter break dancing for no DOGGONE reason).

Then there are times when Disney will surprise me. First, it was with their announcement of animated film Moana. Now it’s with their announcement that animated classic (and one of my all-time favorites) Mulan will become a live-action film. My reaction to this news is the same reaction Mulan and co. had to Shang lifting those clay pots in the air with his staff, only to smash them with eloquence and precision. (Hence, the cover picture for this post.)

A Tale of Two Messiahs: Jesus Is Back on Television (and isn't White)

There’s going to be a lot of Jesus going around this Easter. Jesus, his death, and the aftermath will be discussed and dramatized at length in the National Geographic miniseries Killing Jesus and NBC’s A.D.—The Bible Continues.

I actually don’t prescribe to watching any interpretations of Jesus’ life, because I think everyone gets it wrong —we don’t know a lot about the historical Jesus and folks use the idea of Jesus to promote racial and cultural heresies. For instance, the idea that Jesus is somehow an Anglo-Saxon. But in the aformentioned Jesus offerings, neither actor portraying the Son of God is white. One of them wasn’t even raised Christian.

"The Following": Michael Ealy Discusses His Serial Killer Character Theo

Michael Ealy is known for playing the good guy or the guy that you’d want to take home to meet your mom, but there are rare occasions when he’s played the guy you’d never want to meet. On today’s The Following, we’re finally introduced to his character, Theo. As you can expect from a show like The Following, Ealy’s playing a bad guy. A serial killer, to be exact.
