It seems like people guessing Diana Ross’s age had become a running gag in recent episodes of Jeopardy! We may wrongly guess the ages of our parents or relatives, which is a normal part of life. But the Diana Ross fanbase are very stern in correcting people about the former singer’s age.

According to Decider, the faux pas happened during the game’s “A Number Between 1 and 100” category, competitor Jake Marvin guessed Ross’s age wrong. The clue was described as “Your standard phonograph record in the 1950s or the age Diana Ross turned in 2022”. Marvin incorrectly answered “90,” even though Ross is actually 78 years old.

This comes off the heels of a similar incident in March during Final Jeopardy! where two competitors also guessed Ross’s age wrong. They believed Ross was 95 years old in response to a clue asking contestants to name “the oldest person to release an album of new material.” The actual correct answer was Tony Bennett.

The recent incorrection by Marvin in July caused fans to riot on Twitter with responses such as, “Why do Jeopardy contestants keep putting Diana Ross in her 90s??? She’s in her late 70s and fabulous!”

According to Shadow and Act, other commenters also angrily asked why contestants kept thinking Ross was older than her age, with one writing, “#Jeopardy contestants, I thought we’d established that Diana Ross is not in her nineties.”

Another wrote, “#Jeopardy contestants, you all are gonna stop guessing Diana Ross is 90!! She said don’t play with her!”

“This clue made me so scared I was wrong, and I’m not even playing! I might have been like, ’45, but she doesn’t look a day over 33?'” said another. “Diana Ross needs to appear on Celebrity Jeopardy! and remind us all of her actual age.”

So far, Ross has yet to appear on television or on social media to clarify or comment on the matter at this moment.
