"Tyrant" Season Two Quick Thoughts: Ahmed's Sad Song Playlist + Burkina Faso Enters the Fray

First, apologies for not being on COLOR for two days straight. Real life started knocking last Saturday, and it’s been presenting issues ever since, so I had to take care of life. Life is currently giving me a break to write this post.

Second, I had a cool interview with Rami himself, Keon Alexander! You can read the full post at the Entertainment Weekly Community, but here’s a snippet of our conversation:

"Tyrant" Season Two Quick Thoughts: Bassam's Sundial Moment, No Emma + Shoutouts

Another week, another Tyrant episode, and even though this one didn’t have as much of the Abudinnian politics as we’ve come to expect, the extreme focus on Bassam’s storyline wasn’t as boring as I expected it was going to be. In fact, it was quite fast-paced and, as I wrote in this week’s EW Community Blog recap, filled with surprisingly delightful character development for Bassam.

"Tyrant" Season Two Quick Thoughts: Bassam's Family + A Shout-Out from Rami

I wrote last week that I’d have this post up, but I just couldn’t make it. 1) I honestly didn’t know what to write about 2) I was progressively getting sicker and sicker. Not sick in a “flu” type of way, but sick in a “my anemia is kicking in and I need iron” type of way. Suffice it to say, I stayed in bed all weekend, watching LEGO set reviews (shoutout to JANGBRICKS).

Anyways, let’s get on with it.

"Tyrant" Season Two First Look Live at the Entertainment Weekly Community!

If you’ve read my Tyrant recaps for Entertainment Weekly, then you’ll know that I’ve got a very intense love-hate relationship with this show. Particularly with…all of it. But especially with Bassam. He has a lot to answer for, chief among that list of being a person who whitewashed his entire existence. Literally to the point of changing his name to the very unassuming  “Barry.”
